Born and raised in El Salvador, Ronald Martinez started dancing at the very young age of 6.  Taught by his grandmother, afternoons were spent learning the steps of El Salvador’s traditional dance, Cumbia.  These steps were soon followed by the Waltz, Merengue, Bolero and Cha Cha Cha.

Forced out of his native homeland due to civil unrest Ronald and his family moved to Los Angeles, California.  It was there that Ronald was first introduced to the jazzy rhythms of Salsa.

“I fell in love with how you can express your body through the rhythm of the music, and how I can make my partner feel that she is the only person that exists on that dance floor”.

His love of Salsa followed him all the way to Victoria, British Columbia where family and friends encouraged him to open his own studio.

For the last 10 years, Ronald has taught and performed in various parts of Canada, USA and Mexico.

Sanaa was born in the exotic city of Beirut, Lebanon during the 1970’s civil war.  By the age of 1 Sanaa began to deal with her fears of the war by belly dancing to the sounds of the falling bombs and warning sirens.  Despite what was going on around her, Sanaa found herself entertaining friends and family on her parents veranda.

At the age of 2, Sanaa and her family sought refuge in Vancouver Canada.  Her new peaceful home allowed her to continue expressing herself through the sultry movements of belly dancing.  In addition, Sanaa experimented with other forms of dance such as jazz, hip hop and modern, but it wasn’t until she was introduced to salsa that she found her niche.

Drawn to each other through the art of dance, they now teach,  choreograph and perform various Latin dances as well as run their own studio in Vancouver, British Columbia.
